The Third Post
The Third Post
The Corinthian church has so far failed to move on to maturity
Immaturity will leach into the way that you deal with adversity
You think you’re doing just fine in your Christian life…
until your faced with a difficult circumstance
And you have neither the FAITH nor the WISDOM to deal with the circumstance!
Immaturity will continue to DERAIL your efforts in the battle with sin
You don’t grow in grace and spiritual understanding and faith…
And so you battle with the very same destructive, besetting, and soul-destroying sins
With little progress and little victory
If they’re a brother at all, immaturity leaves that brother weak and worldly and foolish
They can’t handle solid food –
and so they don’t cultivate a love for the doctrine that accords with godliness
They’re not growing in FAITH and OBEDIENCE…
And so a simple trial can leave them DISOBEDIENT and FAITHLESS!
Listen to this from the book of Proverbs
Proverbs often refers to the spiritually immature as simple
Proverbs 14:15
The simple believes every word, But the prudent considers well his steps.
Proverbs 14:18
The simple inherit folly, But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
Proverbs 22:3
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple pass on and are punished.
Proverbs 1:32
For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them
